United Church of Christ

Where do we go from here?

"There is more than enough room in my Father's home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am. And you know the way to where I am going." ~ John 14:2-3 (New Living Translation)

There is a lot going on in our church this summer. There will be even more in the fall. VBS has just wrapped up with more than 30 children participating over the past four Sundays. We have had a raft trip on the Stillwater River and have a Habitat for Humanity work day scheduled for this month. Planing is underway for our 100th Anniversary Celebration in September. We have on-going ministries to our homebound members and local nursing homes.

Pilgrim Congregational Church has a rich and remarkable history. Looking back can tell us a lot about who we are and how we got here. But God alone can guide us into the future. As Christ's disciples we are called to follow him. Scripture assures us that we know the way to where He is going.

As we "go and do likewise" in his name we live lives of loving service to those around us. For our congregation and for each of us individually, this means finding our own ways to live out Christ's call. It may be within the walls of this church, somewhere here in Billings, or in ministry or mission halfway across the world. There is enough room in God's house for each and every one of us. There is more than enough need for all of our talents and our gifts.

In prayer and thoughtful consideration, each of us will find the right answer to where God is leading. Following Christ is not a burden. It is a joy and an adventure. I look forward to the journey with all of you.

Grace and peace,

Pastor John
